Gotta love the Mashup

One of the most interesting developments in remix culture at the moment is the Mashup. The main idea is to take two or more songs, and mix them together. Say, R&B donna Mary J. Blige singing in Real love, now futured on her Reflections album, and the arrangement and music of discocat Tony Valor.

What you get is something completely new. All this love is taking part outside of the conservative record industry.

Isn't it wonderful that music is alive and breathing.

"You see I'm searching for a real love
and I don't know where to go
Been around the world and high and low
and still I'll never know how it feels to have a real love
'cause it seems it's not around
gotta end it in this way because it seems he can't be found"
Real love - Mary J. Blige

This is how it can sound thanks to Ageema Blues, who releases music over at the mashup netlabel Quiche.
