Big pile of broken dreams

- You look at these records, and it's like a big pile of broken dreams in a way. Almost none of these artists still have a carrer really. So you have to kind of respect that. If you are an artist or a DJ you are sort of adding to this pile in a way whether you want to admit it or not. Ten years down the line you will be in here, so keep that in mind when you start to think that you are invincible or something like that, Josh "DJ Shadow" Davies in the documentary Scratch (2002). Being surrounded by thousands of of vinyl-records in the basement of his favorite record-shop.

The computer is still sort of broken when it comes to music. But music is all what I am about now. So I've written a review of Shadows latest album The Outsider which will be publiched in some swedish magazine in the near future. Probably the libertarian socialist webmag Yelah. They are one of the few papers where I have a good relationship with the crew. Heh. And basically the regular papers will shun any review which is written about something older then a month.

These are the days I really realise that some people's only wish is to fuck with you. The homo, bi and transgender/sexual digital community Qruiser host quite a few people who's hunt for sex is on a whole different level. Nothing wrong with that I guess, although I would had hoped that people kind of respected that my interest in one night stands is so low that it's not even worth mentioning.

Sound the alarm, it's a re-release

Suecae Sounds (this time around)
- Don't just stand there

Raw electro, a short edit with some glitches, but I felt back then that it had the energy. And that is all I wanted. It as all I want when I listen to DJ-mixes from the likes of Miss Kitten. No excuses this time for nothing, this is what I love doing. But for some strange reason, I always belive I need to point out that it is_not_perfect. It is so tempting to hate on yourself.

Dedicated to AppO for being so kind as to taking the time to express that he liked this track. That is much appriciated. And needed. And to Danni aswell, you know that you are the big homie of mashupism. Big up to both of you!

Computer breakdown (sort of)

Yep. I've been stranded for the last couple of weeks with a max resolution on my monitor of 800*600. Lot harder to use my fave musical instrument Modplug tracker when the program is designed for higher resolution.

I've replaced both the actual monitor and the gfx-card to no use... Probably the issue is motherboard-related. Yay!

This is delaying both music and other stuff. Of course.

Heartache knows no sexuality

I am listening to Bronski Beat's classic Small town Boy and feel like I have discovered a jewel. Jimmy Sommerville's feminine voice echoes over the synth-pop sound of the early 80's. 1983 to be specific, one year after I was born. The stunning video shows Jimmy as a boy with a cruch on a boy in the local swimming team.

The result efter taking after demonstrating this love: getting beaten up by the object of his love and a few thugs. His father rejects the queer Sommerville, and he is left to contemplate on his situation on the train as the song progresses.

"Run away, turn away, Run away,
Run away, turn away, Run away,

Pushed around and kicked around,
Always a lonely boy,

You are the one that they talk about,

as they put you down.

And as hard as they would try,
They'd hurt to make you cry,
But you never cried to them,

Just to your soul,

No you never cried to them,

Just to your soul

Run away, turn away, Run away,
Run away, turn away, Run away,"

Fashion times two

A reportage I wrote about the search for unique fashion outside of the big time players was feautured in todays issue of Karlstads-Tidningen. Together with Lacam the small fashion-store Ballroom and second hand shop Myrorna was covered. I was using the old but good Canon 300D with a EF 28-105 mm f/3.5-4.5 lens to capture these two scenes. Sometimes I really love what photography can do...
